"Chrysalis: 3 Artists Emerge"Featuring the work of local artists, each of whom are emerging in different ways
June 5 — August 3
Opening: June 6
  Arturo Araujo, S.J.
Arturo is an ordained priest from Columbia who moved to the US to study art six years ago. He's received a great deal of interest in his introspective installation pieces, especially a piece about metamorphosis that will be shown at the BAG which includes monarch butterfly cocoons that will open during the first week of the show and the Strawberry Festival. The butterflies will be released for their journey to Mexico from the gallery windows. www.araujosj.com

Katie Miller Katie Miller
Katie Miller will be showing several works on paper and two crocheted, sculptural installations. Though Katie is an emerging artist in the more traditional sense and just received her BFA from Cornish, she is the focus of an upcoming Jen Graves piece in the The Stranger, and has been recognized for the strength of her work on hankblog — the Henry Art Gallery's blog.
Anthea Groves Anthea Groves
Anthea Groves is "emerging" from her quiet life on Bainbridge Island to show ten drawings on book pages in the small gallery.
