Burien Arts’ Fifth Annual Highline Classic Jazz Festival was Saturday March 9th from 2:30 pm-10pm and offered a Big Program at its new location, The Landmark Event Center in Des Moines.
There was more music with fifteen bands participating in three music venues, and more styles of music including Straight Ahead Jazz classics, early and mid -20th century jazz styles, from Dixieland, Gypsy Jazz, Blues, Ragtime to Big Band Swing.

Burien Arts (original founder of the Strawberry Festival with city support) now focuses on the absolutely best strawberry shortcakes in the world. Yup, drop by Burien Arts' Stawberry Shortcake booth at the Strawberry Festival in June and treat yourself right...and talk arts too.
Burien Arts hosts two open air Shakespeare in the Park plays at Dottie Harper Park, put on by Greenstage. Dates in 2012 are Saturday July 28 and August 4th. 2012 plays are Henry VIII and The Taming of the Shrew.
In November, Burien Arts hosts 20/20 THE art happening - art exhibit, sale, auction, food and wine, sparkling conversation all in one night! 2012 will showcase a new venue for 20/20 -- the Keller Williams Realty office at 2619 SW 152nd. St. in downtown Burien.
