Shakespeare in the Park

Each summer, Burien Arts presents two FREE Shakespeare performances outdoors in Dottie Harper Park, located next to the Burien Community Center. This program presents timeless dramatic themes developed by Shakespeare so long ago, and through Greenstage’s expertise makes them relevant to today’s audiences. Burien Arts is able to continue bringing these live dramatic performances to the residents of the Burien/Highline area because of the generosity of our many members, friends and supporters.

The performances are produced by the very experienced and regionally known theater, Greenstage. People bring blankets and folding chairs for seating, and many bring boxed meals and non-alcoholic beverages to enjoy during the performances. The tradition of Shakespeare in the Park continues to attract audiences of all ages, who enjoy the casual setting and audience involvement that characterizes Greenstage productions. Dates and plays for the 2012 season have not yet been set, but generally the performances fall on two Saturday evenings in late July/early August; from 7:00 – 9:00 pm. Check back in May for the performance dates and plays that will be presented in summer 2012
