Excitingly different graffiti art exhibit comes to Burien Arts Gallery in October

The Burien Arts Gallery is presenting something completely new and Way different in October with its “They Drift X Sneke” exhibit.

Sneke One is a fixture in Seattle’s graffiti art and hip-hop scene. He and his crew have left an indelible mark on the Pacific Northwest and cities throughout the world including New York, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Geneva Switzerland and Paris France.

Meet Sneke at the Burien Arts Gallery’s Artist’s Reception, Friday, October 2, 5-8 p.m.

Known for “style writing” Sneke has been delivering dynamic, aerosol murals for over 20 years. He transforms a variety of shapes, symbols and letters into colorful bursts of abstract magnificence.

In the past several years, Sneke has moved to a multimedia platform, creating contemporary urban-inspired pieces with canvas, vinyl foam core and layered wood.

Some of his more notable works include Blue Scholars Brand identity, 2004; Red Bull Music Academy, 2005; Xbox Videogame booth, 2005; Cherry St. Coffee installation and mug design, 2006; Stomp Concessions booths at Hard Rock Café, 2006; Starbucks Spring Hip Hop CD, 2009 and Vain Hair Salon, 2006-2013.

The exhibit runs October 1- October 31 at the Burien Arts Gallery, 826 S.W. 152nd St. in Olde Burien. The Burien Arts Gallery is the only nonprofit fine-arts gallery between Tacoma and West Seattle.

The Gallery is open Wednesday through Saturday, noon-6 p.m. It is closed Sunday though Tuesday.
